Optical spectra of Co2+ doped in LiGa5O8 spinel

Abstract. The optical energy levels scheme have obtained by diagonalization of the Co2+ Hamiltonian in an complete basis set spanned by all 50 wave functions of the LS terms of 3d7 electron configuration for tetrahedral site symmetry of cobalt ions in inverse spinel LiGa5O8. The crystal field parameters have obtained by fitting with the experimental data. The results of the calculation for optical energy levels are in good agreement with experimentally data.
